02 / The Chairs

Four chairs, and who is standing behind them.

01

Hollis Tate

Owner · since 2012

Eleven years on the Las Vegas strip before he came home and opened this place. Classic tapers, flat tops, and the straight razor work.

Off Mondays

02

Ruben Ortiz

Barber · since 2016

Fades, drops, anything with a hard line in it. Cuts a lot of the SUU crowd. Se habla español.

Off Wednesdays

03

Wes Tolman

Barber · since 2019

Grew up in Parowan. Scissor work, longer hair that still has to look like something, and heavy beards.

Off Thursdays

04

Brady Kunz

Barber · since 2023

Fastest hands in the shop. Kids ask for him by name, which tells you most of what you need to know.

Off Tuesdays

Ask for a name and we’ll put you with them. Happy either way? The first chair open takes you, and all four of them can do the work.

03 / House Rules

How this works.

Six short rules. It has worked the same way for fourteen years, and it will work the same way tomorrow.

Read it once and you’ll know exactly how a visit goes, start to finish.

  1. 1

Walk in whenever we’re open. If all four chairs are full, put your name on the clipboard by the door and take a seat.

  2. 2

Or hold a chair, up at the top of this page or on the phone. Give us your name and the chair is yours. Tell us roughly when you’re coming and we’ll have it turned around and waiting.

  3. 3

One number, and it always gets answered. Shop hours, whoever is closest to it picks up. After hours, the service takes your name and has a chair ready for you in the morning.

  4. 4

Cash or card, same price. The number on the wall is the number you pay, however you pay it.

  5. 5

Bring a picture if you have one. Bring your own idea if you don’t. Either way we’ll tell you straight whether your hair will do it.

  6. 6

Last cut goes in the chair thirty minutes before close. Show up at five till and we’ll book you first thing tomorrow.
